When Jaya Bachchan Wanted Aishwarya Rai To ‘Take Some Burden Off’ Her But Shweta Discouraged Her –

Jaya Bachchan once opened up about her sharing her ‘burdens’ with Aishwarya Rai, her daughter-in-law. Aishwarya Rai became a Bachchan bahu in 2007. She married Abhishek Bachchan on April 20, 2007, in an intimate wedding ceremony at Jalsa, Amitabh Bachchan’s residence. Aishwarya already had a warm relationship with the Bachchan family before the wedding, with Aishwarya having worked with Amitabh in numerous films, Jaya spoke to Karan Johar about Aishwarya during one of the older episodes of Koffee With Karan episode.

In the episode, Karan opened up about Jaya leaning on Shweta Bachchan over the years and asked Jaya if she would lean on Aishwarya similarly. “Now you’ll be sharing some of the issues with your daughter-in-law now. There will be Ash, who will come and take some of the burdens off your shoulders,” Karan asked Jaya.

“Hopefully. I am hoping that she will take a lot more than just ‘some,’” Jaya replied. “So you want to give her lots more?” Karan asked but Shweta Bachchan wasn’t on board with this. “Don’t do that mom. It’s scary and intimidating,” Shweta said. Jaya reacted, “What rubbish.” Shweta explained, “Slowly ease her into it.” Karan quizzed, “The Bachchan way of life?” While Jaya nodded to it, Shweta added, “It’s not that hard.”

Aishwarya and Abhishek have been married for 16 years. They share a daughter, Aaradhya, whom they welcomed in 2011. The family often makes appearances together on special occasions. This includes Amitabh Bachchan’s 81st birthday. Photos and videos from the bash revealed that the whole family, except for Abhishek Bachchan who was out on a work schedule, had gathered to ring in Big B’s birthday. Aishwarya was seen bonding with Shweta Bachchan’s daughter Navya Naveli Nanda while Aaradhya was posing with Amitabh, Jaya and her cousins, Navya and Agastya Nanda. The photos from the bash went viral.
