Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi will tie the knot in the second week of November in Italy, says a source. Ram Charan will reportedly fly down to shower his love.
On June 9 this year, Telugu actor Varun Tej exchanged rings with his girlfriend Lavanya Tripathi in a star-studded ceremony in Hyderabad. The duo had first met on the sets of their film Mister (2016) and started off as friends until love blossomed between the two. They also shared screen space in another film titled Antariksham 9000 KMPH (2018). Their engagement ceremony was attended by the who’s who of the Telugu film industry including Ram Charan, Upasana Kamineni Konidela, Allu Arjun, Sneha Reddy, Allu Aravind, Pawan Kalyan and Chiranjeevi.
A while back, reports started doing the rounds that the love birds are all set to have a quintessential Telugu wedding later this year in Italy. And now Showsha has exclusively learnt that they will tie the knot in a close-knit ceremony away from all the media glare in the second week of November. Their outfits are in the process of being designed and one of the most celebrated designers in the country is personally looking into it.
The source tells us, “Varun and Lavanya are really looking forward to their big day in the second week of November. They are quite private as individuals and so, they’ve decided to flow down their families and close friends to Italy. The nuptials will take place against the picturesque landscape of the country. Both of them will be wearing some stunning ensembles by Manish Malhotra, who is the go-to designers for celebrity weddings.” Malhotra has earlier designed bridal outfits for stars like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani, Preity Zinta, Urmila Matondkar, Gauahar Khan and Ankita Lokhande, among others.
Much like the engagement, the wedding will also be an intimate but starry affair. “Despite his hectic schedule, Tej’s cousin Ram Charan will be attending it along with his family. Pawan Kalyan who is his uncle will also be jetting off to Italy to bless the couple,” states the source, adding, “It is still unclear if the couple will fly for their honeymoon immediately after the wedding considering Varun has to begin the promotions of his Bollywood debut, Operation Valentine.” Following their engagement, the couple flew to Italy, reportedly to do a recce for their wedding.
We reached out to Tej’s team but they remained unavailable for comment.
Over the years, Italy has become a popular destination for celebrity weddings. Previously, Anushka Sharma-Virat Kohli, Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh and ex-couple Kanye West-Kim Kardashian got married in Italy. While Kohli and Sharma married in Borgo Finocchieto, Padukone and Singh got hitched in Lake Como. Kim and her ex-husband Kanye West tied the knot in Florence, Italy, in 2014. In 2016, Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra also tied the knot in an extremely private ceremony in the Italian countryside. It is yet to be seen where Tej and Tripathi choose to take their wedding vows.
On the work front, Tej will next be seen in Operation Valentine which will hit the big screen in Hindi and Telugu on December 8, 2023. Inspired by true events, he will be seen playing an Indian Air Force Officer in the patriotic action-drama that will showcase the indomitable spirits of our heroes on the frontlines and the challenges they face as they fight one of the biggest, fiercest aerial attacks that India has ever seen. It will also star Manushi Chhillar.
