UIDAI launches new toll-free number, AI chat support to check Aadhaar card status

To assist citizens in determining the status of their aadhaar cards, UIDAI launched new customer service that makes use of interactive voice response (IVR) technology.

The Unique Identification Authority of India, which is in charge of regulating the Aadhaar card, has launched a brand-new, technology-based interactive voice response (IVR) customer service that will be available for free at all times.

Customers must dial the toll-free number “1947” in order to utilize the IVR-enabled services. They can use it to receive information via SMS, check the status of their PVC cards, and get Aadhaar updates.


“Explore brand-new services developed by UIDAI using #IVRS. To obtain information about their Aadhaar enrollment or update status, PVC card status, or to receive information via SMS, residents can call the UIDAI toll-free number 1947 at any time, day or night.

In order to improve resident interaction, UIDAI has also launched a new AI/ML-based chat support service for customers. With the assistance of chat support, residents can submit issues, monitor the status of their Aadhaar PVC cards, and do a lot more.

The UIDAI has set up contact centers through which you can get information about Aadhaar updates, enrollment, and other topics. The following centers can be contacted with the help of candidates’ enrollment numbers:

Physical complaints can also be sent to the UIDAI national office and a number of regional branches all over the country. The complaints will be forwarded to the appropriate sections following examination. The complainant will receive a clear response that addresses their problem.

Complaints are also responded to by UIDAI officials via email.

Portal for Public Grievances:
Another way to resolve a complaint is through the Public Grievance Portal. On the portal, users can choose between English and Hindi. Complaints can be submitted at any time, day or night, because it is an online system.

How to check the status of a complaint:

Go to the page with the complaint status, enter the 14-digit complaint ID, then click on the “Check Status” button.
