DA may be hiked for Central employees by Holi; calculation of salary increment: 7th pay commission

The DA is raised by the government twice annually.

7th pay commission update: Before Holi 2023, Central government employees who have been waiting for a dearness allowance (DA) increase may receive one. The recently released AICPI index has revealed this encouraging information. The DA may rise by 4% once more under the Narendra Modi administration. This year, Holi falls on March 8th.

The DA is raised by the government twice annually. Between the months of January and July, this DA increase is made public. The Central government employees have been anticipating the increase in their dearness allowance since the start of the new year.

According to data, the dearness allowance may be increased by 4% or 3% by the central government.

The AICPI index needs to rise by 0.4 points in November and December to accomplish this.

The dearness allowance will increase by 42% if the government increases DA by 4%. The central government will increase DA by 4% in July 2022.

According to the Zee News Hindi website, 48 lakh central government employees and 68 lakh pensioners will gain from the DA and DR increases.

The following is how a level-3 employee’s salary will be affected if the DA is raised to 42%.

The employee’s base salary is Rs 56900; the new dearness allowance (42 percent) is Rs 23898 per month; the current dearness allowance (38 percent) is Rs 21622 per month; the amount of the new dearness allowance is Rs 2276 per month; the annual salary is Rs 2276 x 12 = Rs 27312.
