Turmeric Milk To Peppermint Tea, Home-made Drinks To Heal Sore Throat In Winters –

During winter, exposure to ailments such as common cold and viral flu increases manifold. The rising pollution levels add to the issue, as it severely dents the immune system and causes problems like sore throat. Many times, a sore throat is not a serious problem. It is, however, still painful and will prevent the person from getting a good night’s sleep. Various home remedies can help in soothing the pain and irritation caused due to sore throat. Let’s take a look at some home-made drinks that can serve the purpose.

1. Turmeric Milk- Turmeric milk is one of the sure-shot remedies to cure the problem of sore throat, cough, and cold as well. This milk cures the infection in the throat owing to the anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric. It also finishes the soreness in the throat.

2. Ginger Tea- Sipping on hot ginger tea is one of the best ways to soothe a sore throat. The warm tea has a calming effect on an inflamed throat. You can cook ginger tea at home by boiling 2 teaspoons of dry ginger in one cup of water. You can also do the same by grating a 2-inch raw root in one cup of water.

3. Basil (Tulsi) Extract- You only need to add two leaves of Basil (Tulsi) while cooking tea. It should be followed by boiling the concussion before adding milk. Brewing Basil in tea will give you instant relief from sore throat.

4. Lemon Water- As per Medicine Net, drinking lemon water helps to break the mucus and provides relief from the pain as well. Vitamin C is present in abundant amounts in lemon. It also helps to boost immunity and fight off infection. Mix one teaspoon of lemon juice into a glass of warm water and drink for quick relief.

5. Peppermint Tea- Peppermint tea is another useful beverage that can be consumed for curing the problem of sore throat. To cure it, you need to take a cup of water and boil it well. Then add some pepper powder to it, boil it well, and filter it. Add some mint leaves as well to the boiling water and add salt or sugar according to your taste.
