The Honda Amaze CVT is also a good option to consider for stress free urban commuting.
I want to buy a car for city commute, and will be driving it in bumper-to-bumper traffic. I drive around 60km daily and want an automatic AMT hatchback. I am confused between the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Asta and the Tata Punch. Fuel efficiency is a priority.

Autocar India says: Firstly, AMTs are not great in bumper-to-bumper city traffic as they are jerky and have a pause between gearshifts, which is more distinct in the lower gears you will be operating in. We suggest you consider a CVT automatic, which will make your 60km drive less stressful. You would have to stretch your budget though as the cheapest CVT car is the Honda Amaze. However, if you can’t extend your budget, the Grand i10 Nios Asta is the one to go for as the gearbox is smoother than the Punch’s.
