Tata Nexon price, differences with Nexon.ev, additional features, warranty details

The Nexon.ev exclusively gets a large 12.3-inch touchscreen, among several other features.

Tata Motors recently unveiled the facelift for both ICE and EV versions of the Nexon ahead of their price announcement on September 14. Unlike the pre-facelift models that were largely similar apart from the obvious difference under the skin, the facelifted Nexon and Nexon.ev are now a little more differentiated on aspects such as styling and features. Let’s take a closer look.

Tata Nexon vs Nexon.ev: exterior design

Cosmetic differences between the two SUVs are mostly concentrated on the face. The Nexon.ev uniquely gets a full-width LED Daytime Running Lamp signature, and the upper part of the nose gets a single-tone body-coloured finish. Meanwhile, on the petrol and diesel variants of the Nexon, the upper portion of the nose gets a contrasting black finish, and the connected treatment for the LED DRLs – which are present on the EV – are missing here.

The EV and ICE versions also have slightly different bumpers. The Nexon.ev gets a slatted design for the grille as opposed to the mesh-like design on the Nexon, but more importantly, the former has fewer openings in the grille as it does not have the same cooling necessities, and that also contributes to aerodynamic efficiency. Moreover, the ICE Nexon gets a faux silver skid plate at the bottom, whereas the Nexon.ev gets a slim band of chrome.

There, however, aren’t any changes in profile – both models even ride on identical alloy wheels – but at the rear, the faux skid plate on the bumper has a slightly different finish on both models. Lastly, the Empowered Oxide and Intensi Teal colour options are exclusive to the Nexon.ev.

Tata Nexon vs Nexon.ev: features

On the inside, there aren’t any major design changes – unlike the pre-facelift models, even the drive selector on the centre console is identical on both – but there are differences on the equipment front. The Nexon.ev has a few exclusive features, the most important of which is the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system on the top-spec Empowered trim. On the other hand, the largest screen on the ICE Nexon is a 10.25-inch unit. The EV also comes equipped with Tata’s new Arcade.ev app suite to stream OTT platforms.

Additionally, the EV is equipped with an electronic parking brake with auto hold feature as opposed to the manual handbrake on the ICE Nexon. While the EV gets all-wheel disc brakes, the ICE variants only get discs at the front. The Nexon.ev additionally gets a welcome and goodbye animation on the front LED DRLs, OTA updates, connected car features as standard and a puncture repair kit.

Owing to the fundamental difference in powertrain, the Nexon.ev also gets V2V (vehicle to vehicle) and V2L (vehicle to load) charging, and multi-level regen modes.

Tata Nexon vs Nexon.ev: variants and warranty

The ICE Nexon is available in four core trims – Smart, Pure, Creative and Fearless – and each of these further get optional packages denoted by a ‘+’ suffix. The Nexon.ev, meanwhile, is offered in three core trims – Creative, Fearless and Empowered – which are again available with their respective optional packages.

As for warranty, Tata Motors is offering 3 years or 1,00,000km of warranty on the ICE Nexon, but the Nexon.ev gets a higher 1,25,000km warranty, although the time period remains the same.
