As UK PM Rishi Sunak Visits Akshardham, Here’s Everything You Need To Know About The Temple –

The Akshardham Temple is open from 10:00 AM to 06:30 PM from Tuesday to Sunday and remains closed on Monday.

On the last day of the G20 Summit, which was concluded in Delhi, Indian-origin British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty visited the Akshardham Temple in the national capital. Before the start of the second day of the summit, Sunak, who was dressed in trousers and a white shirt and his wife donning a brown kurta with a red palazzo set, reached the temple early morning and offered prayers before heading to Rajghat to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi.

He was greeted by Swamis along with the senior leaders from the Akshardham Mandir who relayed a special message on behalf of Mahant Swami Maharaj, spiritual leader of the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha, according to PTI. During his visit, he also admired the 100-acre spiritual and cultural complex. He also performed by Abhishek on the idol of Shri Nilkanth Varni Maharaj and prayed for world peace, progress and harmony.

Akshardham Temple is devoted to Bhagwan Swaminarayan, the avatars, devas and great sages of Hinduism. The complex of the temple was inaugurated on November 6, 2005, which is inspired by Pramukh Swami Maharaj. It is built from intricately carved sandstone and marble and has open gardens, water bodies and a step-well-styled courtyard. It has nine domes and 234 pillars along with more than 20,000 sculptures of Acharyas, swami and devotees. The Akshardham Temple is also recorded under the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest Hindu Temple complex.

Timings to Visit Akshardham Temple

The temple is open from 10:00 AM to 06:30 PM from Tuesday to Sunday and is closed on Monday. There is no entry fees for the tourist or devotees visiting the temple.

How To Reach Akshardham Temple

You can come here by car and the car parking on the premises is available. Also with great metro connectivity, the tourist can also use the medium to travel and visit the temple. The nearest metro station is Akshardham Metro Station in Blue Line which is 350 meters away from the temple premises.
