Royal Enfield Himalayan, Meteor 350 lose Tripper navigation pod

The Bluetooth-enabled Tripper navigation pod was earlier offered as standard fitment on both RE bikes, but is offered as an optional extra now.

Royal Enfield is no longer offering the Tripper navigation pod as standard fitment on the Himalayan and Meteor 350. The company says that this move has been taken as a step to combat the ongoing semiconductor shortage that is plaguing the industry.

The Tripper, however, will be offered as an optional extra and can be added to these two bikes at the time of booking via the company’s ‘Make it Yours’ configurator. At this moment in time, however, the Tripper remains out of stock even as an optional extra on the configurator, hinting at the seriousness of the chip shortage.

As a result of this exclusion, the Meteor has received a price revision, and now costs roughly Rs 4,000 less than before. Prices start at Rs 2.01 lakh for the base Fireball variant, and go up to Rs 2.17 lakh for the range-topping Supernova version. The Himalayan though, has not received any change in price, and continues to be priced between Rs 2.15 lakh-2.22 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
