Since 2021, Netflix has been putting out its weekly list of ‘Global Top Ten’, and its ‘Most Popular Lists’ which mentions the ‘10 most popular titles in each category, based on views in their first 91 days on Netflix.’ Now it has come up with a full engagement report which it intends to publish twice a year.

It was followed by the comedy-drama Ginny & Georgia: Season 2 with 665.1 million hours of viewing. Korean thriller The Glory: Season 1 stood at the third spot with 622.8 million hours of viewership.

The series stars Venkatesh Daggubati, Suchitra Pillai, Rana Daggubati, Surveen Chawla, and Gaurav Chopra in lead roles. It is an official adaptation of Showtime’s 2013 crime drama series Ray Donovan.

While sharing its engagement report, Netflix said in a statement, “This is a big step forward for Netflix and our industry. We believe the viewing information in this report — combined with our weekly Top 10 and Most Popular lists — will give creators and our industry deeper insights into our audiences, and what resonates with them.”

The streaming giant concluded some trends based on the viewership data and noted that non-English stories generated 30 percent of all its viewing.

The success of shows like Ginny & Georgia, the Bridgerton series, and film sequels Murder Mystery 2 and Extraction 2 showed the power of established series. It also highlighted that series like The Night Agent, The Diplomat, Beef, and The Glory, generated active fandoms despite being news.

Netflix also pointed out that many shows did well way after their premiers. For instance, films like All Quiet on the Western Front debuted in October 2022 and yet generated 80 million hours of viewership between January and June.
