Parineeti Chopra’s stylists for her wedding said that the bride wanted to be comfortable for her big day.
Parineeti Chopra got married to Aam Aadmi Party leader Raghav Chadha on September 24 in Udaipur, Rajasthan. Soon after their wedding, pictures and videos of the couple from the ceremony began to surface online. Their outfits from the big day sparked some debate online. While some people loved their minimalist avatars, others drew comparisons to brides like Alia Bhatt and Kiara Advani. Recently, Parineeti’s stylists for her big day opened up about the actress’ wedding look.
Talking to ETimes, stylists Nidhi Agarwal and Shraddha Lakhani opened up about Parineeti’s vision for her wedding look. Nidhi said that Parineti chose a minimalist aesthetic for her big day because she wanted to be able to have fun. Nidhi said, “She said, ‘I want to have fun. Don’t treat me like a heroine I don’t want anybody walking behind me, holding my veil, fixing my dupatta. Nothing.’ She said, ‘I want to be as comfortable as I can be. I will not wear heels for any of my functions. I will wear flats. Put me in sneakers if you can’.”
Shraddha added, “Even her mehendi was very minimalistic. She said, ‘It’s okay if I look like a bridesmaid and not the bride’.” The stylists also made an interesting revelation about Parineeti’s lehenga. While the gorgeous lehenga appeared ivory in the photos, the stylists revealed that the ensemble was in fact, gold in colour. Nidhi said, “Actually, a lot of people think it’s ivory, but her lehenga is gold.”
Talking about Parineeti’s look being compared to other celebrity brides, Shraddha said, “I feel, not everyone understood what the thought process was behind every look and it’s too easy on the internet to troll somebody… Also, the comparisons are far from the truth, which needs to come out. A lot of people are talking about her entry. She sang her own song. Who has done this before?”
Meanwhile, a source confirmed to that Raghav and Parineeti will host a reception in Mumbai on Wednesday, October 4 for their friends in their respective industries.
