Orxa Energies, a Bengaluru-based electric motorcycle startup, has inaugurated its new facility for electric vehicle manufacturing and battery assembly at Bommasandra Industrial Area in Karnataka. Spread across one acre, the new facility currently has the capacity to manufacture 20,000 Mantis e-bikes. It also accommodates research and development activities, Mantis assembly stations, battery assembly lines, and a product testing centre.

According to Orxa Energies, the joint R&D and production facility will enable it to leverage its strong in-house engineering talent to vastly improve vehicle tech as well as the production and assembly methods used in its products.
Ranjita Ravi, co-founder, Orxa Energies, said that the startup is gearing up to launch its flagship electric performance motorcycle, the Mantis by the end of this year. This electric bike will be equipped with a 9kWh battery pack that will give an IDC range of 200km in a single charge, claims the startup. “2023 is a critical year for us, we finally bring the Mantis to the people,” Ravi added.
Co-founder Prajwal Sabnis said, “The substantial investments made towards building this facility reinforce our journey towards preparing the Mantis and other Orxa offerings for demanding customers. Over the years we have been actively improving our product offerings, making the Mantis an equivalent to the best-in-class ICE motorcycle.”
