Nutritionist Shares 3 Important Eating Habits to Achieve a Leaner Body


To achieve a lean figure, we indulge ourselves in dieting, fat-burning workouts, and whatnot. However, it is pretty simple to achieve a healthy lean figure if we go by nutritionist Pooja Makhija’s recent Instagram post. Sharing some interesting insights into how one can achieve a leaner body, Makhija revealed three essential eating habits that viewers can follow.


Standing in front of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Makhija shared the first tip. The nutritionist advised that the size of your meal should wean from sunrise to sunset. This means one should have a heavy breakfast and then a medium portion of lunch followed by a very little amount of food during dinner time. Makhija explains that this is because our body’s metabolic rate is also going down the same way hence we should size our meals accordingly for better digestion.

The second piece of advice shared by the health expert was regarding the consumption of fluids. She mentioned in her post that one should never drink water or any other fluid immediately after the meal. Fluids should be consumed either before a meal or 45 minutes post a meal has been consumed. She explained that drinking fluids immediately after a meal tend to dilute the digestive enzymes and digestive juices that in turn affect our digestion process. This also causes nutrient loss according to her.

The third eating habit shared by Makhija pertained to the order of food you put in your mouth. “Make your carbs wear some clothes,” suggested Makhija. She recommends that one should start with raw vegetables, then cooked proteins, followed by fat-rich food and finish off with carbs accompanied by a few legumes, and lentils. The nutritionist explained that following this method of eating will reduce the sugar spikes, and the fat storage and you will be able to nurture without causing any fat storage.
