Veteran Malayalam director KG George passed away at the age of 77 on September 24. He took his last breath at an old age home in Kakkanad, Kerala. The sudden demise of the director has sent shockwaves across the Malayalam film industry. Several revered personalities mourned the loss of one of the finest filmmakers of the Malayalam film industry, who was known for giving many classics. After the death of the director, Selma George, wife of the late filmmaker faced criticism from fans. She was also criticised by the media for not taking care of KG George.

Selma George, who is a renowned singer, has now responded to the allegations on social media. She said that the filmmaker was admitted into an old age home for better facilities and the availability of the doctors. It was good for his health and well-being, she said.

While interacting with the media, Selma said that KG George was placed in an institution named Signature because of the facilities and the doctor. According her, the director was well looked after by the staff. She refuted all allegations floating on social media.

On the allegations of spending her time in Goa while her husband was ailing and admitted to an old age home, Selma said that she didn’t go to Goa for the vacation but to visit her son. “My Children and I took good care of my husband,” added Selma.

She said that those criticising her can ask the people from the film industry and FEFKA if she took care of her husband or not.

“Because of the stroke, I can’t pick him up and bathe him alone. That is why I admitted him at Signature. They looked after him very well. Food was delivered every week,” said Selma while clarifying her decision to send KG George to the old age home. She further said that KG George was a good director and also a good husband.
