Josh Radnor and Jordana Jacobs had planned a small ceremony with hot chocolate, toddies and dancing, but the weather had other plans.
How I Met Your Mother star Josh Radnor recently delighted fans by sharing photos from his surreal wedding with Jordana Jacobs on their first anniversary. Looking back, Josh admitted that although the event didn’t go exactly as planned, it made the experience even more unforgettable. Originally, they had planned a small outdoor ceremony with hot chocolate and toddies for guests, followed by dinner and dancing indoors. But the weather had other plans.
What was expected to be a light snowfall turned into a blizzard. Despite the unexpected weather, Josh and Jacobs decided to go ahead with their outdoor ceremony and ended up having a surreal experience.
Reminiscing about the special day on Instagram, Josh wrote, “One year ago today I got married. Our plan was a short ceremony outside with hot chocolate and hot toddies for the guests then retire inside to the warmth for dinner and dancing. The forecast said we could expect some light flurries at around 5pm. We thought that would be delightful. Around 2:30 the snow started coming and would not stop. Our photographer and videographer were delighted but we were nervous.”
“Too late to pivot inside we went ahead with our blizzard wedding. It was surreal and unforgettable. Big thanks to our guests who braved the cold, surrendered to the unexpected and opened up their rooms to new friends. I honestly didn’t know if marriage was for me but it turned out it was. Asking Jordana to marry me was the best decision I ever made. I love doing life alongside this kind, wise, hilarious, lovely woman,” Josh Radnor added.
The images showed Josh Radnor and Jordana Jacobs walking in the heavy snow in their wedding outfits, while a few photos feature the indoor shots of the ceremony. The actor also added his and Jacobs’ solo shots as they got ready for their big day. Some PDA filled pictures show the couple enjoying the moment and one shot features them with their pet dog. Another picture is them reading vows and dancing under the snow, along with a snap of Josh playing guitar for Jordana during the reception. It also featured images of the blizzard, which left the guests and staff trapped at the venue.
For those not aware, Josh and Jordana got married on January 6, 2024 at the Cedar Lakes Estate in Port Jervis, New York. The couple first met in February 2022 at a meditation retreat.
