Individuals can now book 24 train tickets in a month on the IRCTC site and application if their client ID is connected to Aadhaar, generally just 12 tickets can be purchased, the Railways reported on Monday.
Up until this point, the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) permitted individuals to book six tickets every month if the account isn’t associated with Aadhar and 12 assuming it is connected.
“To work with travelers, Indian Railways has chosen to build the restriction of booking greatest 6 tickets in a month to 12 tickets by a client ID which isn’t Aadhaar connected and the constraint of booking most extreme 12 tickets in a month to 24 tickets by a client ID which is Aadhaar connected and that one of the travelers in the pass to be reserved is undeniable through Aadhaar,” the service said in an explanation.
Authorities said this will be useful for incessant explorers as well as those utilizing a similar account to book train tickets for relatives.
