Elon Musk takes a dig at Apple Vision Pro, shares a meme mocking its price

Apple recently announced its first augmented reality (AR)/virtual reality (VR) headset at its annual WWDC event. Called Apple Vision Pro, the device has surely become talk of the town. While some are ‘impressed’ with the Vision Pro, others are critical of its hefty price tag. In case you are unaware, Apple Vision Pro is priced at $3,499.

In a latest, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has put out a meme via his Twitter handle, poking fun at Apple’s mixed reality headset. The meme shows a photo of a woman wearing Vision Pro placed alongside some mushrooms that can chemically change ‘carbon vibrations’, allowing one to ‘make instant contact with WFOs and aliens.’ These mushrooms have a marked price of $20 way less than Apple Vision Pro’s $3,499 price.

Musk’s tweet has garnered more than 30,000 likes at the time of writing the copy. Here’s how people reacted to his post

“This is the best meme,” said a user. “He’s on point tho,” replied another user.

“Well worth $20 to make instant contact with UFOs & 🛸by chemically changing your carbon vibration!,” replied another user to Musk’s tweet.

“Ah the imagination that can turn Unidentified Flying Objects into Visitations from Outer Space despite perfectly plausible explanations which are also out there but you would never guess it. We have enough to deal with on Earth never mind thinking up aliens,” replied one user.

Apple Vision Pro features

Apple Vision Pro arrives at the home view, a floating set of icons with Apple’s most used apps, including mail, music, messages, and safari, when users don the headset. Also, the new product doesn’t need controllers or hardware. It can track eyes to highlight the preferred icon when users look at a particular icon.

The device comes powered by Apple M2 chip which is enabled with a new chip called R1, especially for sensor processing. The product comes with 12 cameras, five sensors, and six mics. Vision Pro is enabled with an authentication system called Optic ID, which can be paired with a keyboard. Apple claims that it can be used with iris, data is encrypted, and works with Secure Enclave.
