To make the pakora, you will require about 3/4th cup of moong dal, 1/4th cup of chana dal, 1-inch ginger, chillies, a teaspoon of cumin, pinch of hing and baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt and oil for frying.

Steps to make:

The first step is to take a large bowl and soak moong dal and chana.

After four hours, drain off the water and let it rest for 5 minutes.

Transfer the dal to the blender along with ginger and chillies and blend till it forms a paste-like consistency. Add water only if necessary.

Now pour the batter in a large mixing bowl. To this, add cumin, hing, baking soda and salt.

Beat till the batter turns frothy.

Now, dip your hand in the water and pick up the batter in your hand. Then, drop them one by one into the hot oil. Make sure to keep the flame low to medium and stir occasionally. Fry the vada till they are golden brown.

Drain the vada, take it out of the vessel and place it on a kitchen towel to let it absorb the extra oil.

Serve it hot with green chutney and tamarind chutney.

Further, add grated radish or julienned it and garnish with coriander leaves as well.

To elevate the flavour, sprinkle some chaat masala, amchur and salt.

Ram Ladoo is ready to be served!
