Alia Bhatt and Vasan Bala are collaborating on a film titled Jigra. Karan Johar shared the first look of the film.
Karan Johar unvieled the title of Alia Bhatt and Vasan Bala’s film. The filmmaker took to Instagram and revealed that Alia’s first film with Vasan Bala is titled Jigra and also launched the first look. The video begins with a quote by GK Chesterton flashing on the screen. The quote reads, “The paradox of courage is that one must be a little careless of life in order to keep it.” The video then proceeds to show Alia with a bag on her shoulder. She is standing in the streets of what seems to be Japan.
A voice over by Alia is played in the background with Alia ensuring what seems to be her youngest sibling that she won’t let anything happen to them. The video also revealed that Alia is not only starring in the film but co-producing it with Karan Johar. Sharing the video, KJo wrote, “The return of…my #Jigra, @aliaabhatt once again on this exceptional story helmed by @vasanbala. A story of unbreakable love & unshakable courage! JIGRA – in cinemas on 27th September 2024.”

In July this year, it was revealed that Alia is collaborating with Vasan Bala. A source told Pinkvilla, “Vasan Bala is known for his distinct storytelling and unconventional narratives. His film with Alia Bhatt also promises to be a refreshing and unique cinematic experience for Hindi audiences. Alia will be seen playing one of the most challenging roles of her career in this movie, and she is excited to go on this new adventure and explore a genre she hasn’t attempted before. Bala has written a cracking jailbreak story, and people who are aware of this project are already excited about it. This is going to be a heck of an interesting movie.”
