Aishwarya Rai made a comeback to the big screen with Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan: 1 and 2. In the film, she essayed the role of Nandini, a Puzhavoor Princess and wife of Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar. But this was not the first time when Aishwarya Rai collaborated with the visionary director Mani Ratnam. Prior to this, she had done Iruvar and Raavan with the film-maker. In a recent interview, Mani Ratnam’s wife Suhasini Maniratnam heaped praises for the actress.

Speaking with ABP news, Suhasini shared, “When I see Aishwarya, I feel really happy. I know her personally, and while many see her for her beauty, I see her as a genuine person. She possesses qualities that the public may not always see. For example, if you become ill, she’ll be the first to come and take care of you. She’ll provide advice on what to eat, and she has that caring nature. Aishwarya Rai is like Florence Nightingale.”

Earlier, Mani Ratnam has spoken in length about Aishwarya Rai’s brilliance, “Filmmakers are very, very selfish people, absolutely heartless, and selfish. The only thing they care for is the film. How much ever I love her (Aishwarya), I will ask her only if I think she is right for the role. Every time I have asked her, it is because I have believed that she was absolutely right for the role and she has been nice enough to say yes. So, she is not just a lucky charm for me, it is her talent and her personality that was right to portray this character,” the film-maker had shared.

Aishwarya recently stole the show as she walked the ramp for L’Oréal Paris during the Paris Fashion Week. The actress looked absolutely stunning as she strutted the runway in a golden cape gown and debuted her blonde highlights. Aishwarya was among several celebrities including Kendall Jenner, Eva Longoria, Helen Mirren, Viola Davis and more, who walked the ramp for the brand’s show titled Walk Your Worth.
