It was earlier reported that 3 Idiots actor Akhil Mishra died after accidentally falling in the kitchen.
Days after 3 Idiots actor Akhil Mishra passed away, his wife Suzanne Bernert has now opened up about the cause of his sudden demise. While it was earlier reported that Mishra died after accidentally falling in the kitchen, his actress-wife has now said that they will never get to know what actually happened. She was speaking to The Free Press Journal when she also revealed that Akhil was conscious even when he was being taken to the hospital.
“What actually happened we will never know. He was conscious until he was taken to the hospital… spoke to our friends Vipul, Bhavesh, and Madan who took him. In the emergency room, he could still answer questions but then he passed away due to an internal haemorrhage at Bhaktivedanta Hospital,” Suzanne said.
She further remembered her husband and added, “There was nothing pretentious about him. A little stubborn but if you had valid points he was also willing to change his opinion.”
Akhil and Suzanne tied the knot in 2009. Recalling how she met the late actor for the first time, Suzanne shared that she was looking for work in India when she was asked to meet Akhil for a role in a theatre.
“Soon after coming to India, I was searching for some good roles and was trying my hands in theatres. During that time, I was doing Astitva Ek Prem Kahani, where I met actor Varun Badola, who recommended me for a role. For the same, I was asked to meet Akhil, who was supposed to brief me about my character,” she shared.
“We met at a coffee shop for the first time, and I could instantly feel that we had some connection. Then, we became close friends but took some time to realise that our bond was more than just friendship. And when we finally declared our love for each other, everyone, including my mother, said that they had suspected it much before we understood,” the actress added.
Akhil Mishra was a popular face in the film industry. The actor played the role of a librarian, Dubey, in 3 Idiots. He was in the limelight in the first half of the film, including the famous hilarious speech delivered in the movie Omi Vaidya’s Silencer. Besides 3 Idiots, Akhil was also seen in movies like Shah Rukh Khan’s Don, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, Gandhi My Father, Well Done Abba, and Calcutta Mail.
