Zomato back online in some cities after brief outage


Food delivery platform Zomato faced outages in all metro cities including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai on Sunday.


Services were restored by around 9 pm in some cities.

“We are currently not accepting orders online. We’ll be back soon,” read a message on the app.

Scores of users took to Twitter to report the outage.

“… we are facing a temporary glitch. Please be assured our team is working on this and we will be up and running soon,” the company’s customer support handle responded to one such user on Twitter.

A Zomato spokesperson did not immediately respond to ET’s queries.

The reason for the outage was unclear. According to the online platform Downdetector, which provides real-time information about the status of various websites and services, the Zomato app showed a spike in reported outages around 8 pm on Sunday.
