Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol’s ZNMD 2 confirmed?
Farhan Akhtar recently opened up on working with Hrithik Roshan and shared a major update on Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara 2.
Farhan Akhtar and Hrithik Roshan have come a long way in showbiz. The duo have time and again delivered hit films with their collaborations. Back in 2004, it was the film Lakshya that marked their first collaboration. Cut to 2009, they worked together in Zoya Akhtar’s film Luck By Chance and in 2011, the actors starred in the hit Zindagi Naa Milegi Dobara, which in fact strengthened their bond. As Lakshya begins a re-run at the theatres, as it clocks 20 years, Farhan opened up on working with Hrithik Roshan.
When asked, if Farhan plans to collaborate with Hrithik again, the former shared, ”100%. I mean, we meet so often, we talk about this all the time, but it is important… see there is an enthusiasm to work together, there is an excitement to work together, but it is also important that the film, the story be the right one. We all keep each other in check.”
He further addd, ”We’ll find the right one. So the intention is 100% there to collaborate on something, and I am very hopeful that within a year or two years, hopefully that, we’ll find something we can do.”
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara revolved around three friends on a road trip and performing daring activities picked by each friend. This included participating in the Tomatina festival, skydiving, scuba diving, and taking part in the running of the bulls. The film was a massive hit. In the same interview, Farhan also shared an update on ZNMD 2 and added, “We all want the sequel to happen as it’s a loved film. We are often asked about part two of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara as the audiences have owned the film. We all hope that Zoya will come up with something for the sequel. It’s her brainchild, so we hope.”
Over a decade after the film’s release, Farhan is part of another travel film revolving around three main leads. In 2021, Farhan announced that he was going to turn director with the film Jee Le Zaraa, starring Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif. The film’s poster has teased that it will be another road trip movie. The filming details are yet to be revealed.
Apart from this, Farhan has recently announced Don 3, starring Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani.
Hrithik Roshan, on the other hand, was last seen in Fighter with Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor. The actor will next be seen in War 2 Jr. NTR, and Kiara Advani. Helmed by Siddharth Anand, the film is slated to release on August 14, 2025.
