With established ICE and electric scooters starting well over Rs 60,000, the Wynn is a good option.
I have just turned 18 and I want to buy my first two-wheeler. I was looking at the TVS Scooty Zest 110 and the Honda Activa, but both of those are quite close to the Rs 1 lakh mark (on-road, Mumbai). The newly-launched Yulu Wynn has caught my eye and is much lighter on the wallet as well. My primary usage is in and around my house for my classes and evening cricket, which is less than 10 km. Should I buy a full-fledged scooter or go for the Yulu?

Autocar India says: The Honda Activa and the TVS Scooty Zest 110 are worthy and effortless stepping stones into the two-wheeled arena, not to mention far more capable than the Yulu Wynn you’re considering. However, if you are on a serious budget and are just pootling around the neighbourhood, the sub-Rs 60,000 Yulu Wynn should cut it for you. You’ll have to live with a 25kph top speed and it wont be as plush over bumps as a full-sized scooter, but with minimal running costs and a tiny footprint, the Wynn is a good urban runabout. Being a low-speed two-wheeler, you don’t need to insure or register the Wynn, which will help you save some cash. The new-age Yulu e-bikes are made by Bajaj Auto’s EV arm, Chetak Technology Pvt. Ltd. in Chakan and are a step up from the earlier Chinese-origin vehicles.
