Yamaha R15S V3 receives a price hike in July

Yamaha has hiked the price of its R15S motorcycle for the month of July 2022. The price for the R15S has gone up by Rs 1,000 and it now costs Rs 1.61 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). 

The R15S is basically the previous-gen R15 Version 3 but with a single-piece seat instead of the spilt-seat set-up that the bike originally had. The R15S V3 is available in Yamaha’s signature Racing Blue colour scheme and, more recently, the manufacturer introduced a new Matte Black option as well. 

The R15S V3 is powered by a 155cc, four-valve, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces 18.6hp and 14.1Nm of torque. Compared to the current-gen R15 V4, the R15S puts out 0.2hp more but 0.1Nm less. The gearbox on the R15S is a 6-speed unit that comes with a slip-and-assist clutch. In terms of equipment, the R15S gets an LED headlight and tail-light, along with dual-channel ABS. 

Compared to the base R15 V4 (Rs 1.77 lakh), the R15S still costs Rs 16,000 less. The R15S V3 also rivals other supersport motorcycles like the KTM RC 125 (Rs 1.88 lakh) and the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 (Rs 1.70 lakh) and manages to undercut them as well.
