Yamaha has recently introduced updates to its popular small-capacity sportbikes, the R15 and the R15M, for 2025 in Indonesia. While the bikes are the same as the version we get in India, Yamaha has introduced new colours for them, and these shades could also make their way to our country.
- Remains mechanically unchanged
- 3 new colours for R15
- A new colour for the R15M
Yamaha R15, R15M details
The Japanese manufacturer has unveiled four new colours: Tech Black, Icon Blue and Aggressive Grey for the R15 and Icon Performance for the R15M. Yamaha has not made any mechanical changes to these motorcycles or added any new features, especially considering how well-equipped they already are.
The R15 and R15M and R15M are the most feature-rich bikes in their segment, with slipper clutch, traction control and quickshifter among standard equipment.
Both motorcycles are powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with a peak output of 18h.4hp at 10,000rpm and 14.2Nm at 7,500rpm. Braking is managed by a single disc at both ends, along with dual-channel ABS. The bikes have a seat height of 815mm and a ground clearance of 170mm. The kerb weight is 141kg, and the fuel tank capacity is 11 litres.
The R15 and R15M are more or less the same bike but with cosmetic differences. Their price starts at Rs 1.83 lakh for the R15 and goes up to Rs 1.98 lakh for the R15M (ex-showroom, Delhi), and they rival the likes of the KTM RC 200, Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 and Suzuki Gixxer SF 250.
