The Yamaha X Force 155 is powered by the same engine you see in the Yamaha R15 and Aerox 155.
Yamaha has unveiled the new X Force 155 scooter in the Japanese market. The scooter is based on the same platform as the Aerox 155 that’s sold in India as well as the NMax 155, which is being considered for India as per our exclusive report.
Yamaha X Force 155: design
One of the main bits that distinguish the X Force 155 from its siblings is its youthful design. It has an aggressively styled front apron, with split headlights and a smoked windscreen crowning it. The vertical indicators are neatly integrated at the edges of the apron.
When viewed from the side you’ll notice that the X Force has a flat floorboard, unlike the central spine of the Aerox 155 and NMax 155 scooters. This will appeal to those looking to carry items on the floorboard. The seat is also relatively flatter than that of the Aerox, which should result in better comfort for the rider and pillion with more space to move around.
The tail section is neat and compact with the LED tail-light strip gelling with the rest of the design.
The scooter is available in an array of colour options that look striking, especially the ones with painted wheels.
Yamaha X Force 155: features
In terms of features, the scooter gets an LCD display with Bluetooth connectivity, SMS and call notifications and a USB port. The scooter also gets traction control, just like the R15.
Yamaha X Force 155: engine and chassis
The Yamaha X Force 155 is powered y a 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 15hp at 8,000rpm and 14Nm at 6,500rpm. It gets Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) and is paired with a CVT transmission.
As for the chassis, the X Force’s underbone frame is suspended by a telescopic fork and twin-shock absorbers. Also, unlike the Yamaha Aerox 155, which runs on 14-inch wheels, the X Force 155 rides on 13-inch wheels, shod with 120/70 front and 130/70 tyres. Braking duties are taken care of by a 267mm front disc and a 230mm disc at the rear. Dual channel ABS is offered as standard.
Yamaha X Force 155: price and availability
The X Force 155 is priced at JPY 3,96,000 or Rs 2.30 lakh. The scooter, at present, will be sold in Japan only, and Yamaha has no plans of bringing the bike to India at the moment.
