Anand will lead Wipro’s business expansion in Japan and will also partner with clients to help them achieve their growth ambitions by leveraging Wipro’s capabilities across experience, Data, analytics & insights, engineering edge, cloud services, cybersecurity, core business transformation, and managed services, according to an exchange filing.
Anand has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry, specializing in consulting, digital engineering, IoT, and emerging technologies. He joins the Bengaluru-based company after a 13-year stint at Tata Consultancy Services where he led the manufacturing and hi-Tech vertical with a focus on the Japanese automotive industry and ecosystem suppliers. He will report to Anis Chenchah who is a member of Wipro’s executive board and chief executive of Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa markets.
Tomoaki Takeuchi, the previous country head of Japan, had stepped down earlier this month. He is one of the four country or regional heads who has quit over the last month to pursue opportunities outside the organization, the company said.
Other executives who have quit over the past few weeks are Sarah Adam–Gedge, managing director, Australia and
New Zealand; Douglas Silva, country head for Brazil; and Mohammed Areff, country head and managing director of Middle East region.

Anand holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunication from Pune Institute of Computer Technology and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies.
