She has been the recipient of many accolades and has had a massive fan following among the audience. Even after having a prolific professional life, the legendary actress’ personal life had its fair share of challenges. In an interview with a media channel earlier, Asha Parekh revealed details about her love life. She has openly spoken about her decision to not get married throughout her life. She gave her reasons also for it. Asha Parekh revealed that she had fallen in love with filmmaker Nasir Hussain. They both met each other during the shooting of a film, and the actress fell in love with him completely. But they always maintained a good friendship with each other. She added that Nasir Hussain was already married at that time. As a result, she did not express her love to him, but decided not to marry ever.
Asha Parekh said, “I had fallen in love with Nasir Hussain. I always kept searching for a person like him. I couldn’t marry him. Nasir Hussain was already married. I did not want to destroy their well-established home. Even if he had gotten divorced, the children would have suffered pain, and the house could have been ruined. That’s why I decided to suppress my desires and sacrifice love.”
She also revealed that her mother had always been worried about her marriage. She would always ask Asha Parekh to find a good person. She added that her mother was shocked when she found out that Asha Parekh had decided not to get married. She further added that an astrologer had also revealed that she would never get married. After hearing this, Asha Parekh made up her mind to never find love.
Nasir Hussain and Asha Parekh had collaborated on many films. They first worked together at Dil Deke Dekho in 1959. Later, they went on to collaborate on seven feature films, all superhits, including Teesri Manzil and Caravan.
