WhatsApp may soon bring these two features for web users: Details inside

Meta-owned WhatsApp is working on two new features for Windows. According to a report by WaBetaInfo, the messaging app is working on the ability to share the content of the screen while placing video calls by bringing a screen-sharing option. Another feature coming to WhatsApp is the ability to edit messages that is currently available for Android and iOS mobile devices.

Screen-sharing on WhatsApp web

The option to share screens on WhatsApp for Windows was spotted in the WhatsApp beta for Windows 2.2322.1.0. As per the report, the feature is available to a few beta users. In case it is enabled for your WhatsApp account, you can share the content of your screen by selecting the specific option available within the video call bottom control.

Once a user chooses to share his/her screen, they will see a prompt on their screen to share a specific window or the entire content with everyone connected to the video call. The report says that users will be able to share the content of their screen even with people that are connected to the call from their mobile devices. Users will also be able to control the feature and stop sharing the screen anytime they wish to.

Edit message on WhatsApp web

The ability to edit messages was rolled out to WhatsApp mobile app recently. The feature is now rolling out to Windows beta testers. Edit action will appear within the message menu, allowing users to edit text messages. The report says that users can edit a message within 15 minutes of sending it.

In other news, WhatsApp has started rolling out a new and redesigned keyboard aimed at increasing user experience. According to a report by WaBetaInfo, the new keyboard features an emoji bar. In addition, users will now have the ability to scroll the keyboard upwards, allowing them to get a wider view. Also, the tabs for accessing the GIF, sticker, and avatar sections have been relocated higher up. The report says that the redesigned keyboard is available to some lucky beta testers that install the latest WhatsApp beta for Android and WhatsApp for iOS update from the Google Play Store.
