WhatsApp brings redesigned keyboard with emoji bar: Details inside

Meta-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp has started rolling out a new and redesigned keyboard aimed at increasing user experience. According to a report by WaBetaInfo, the new keyboard features an emoji bar.

In addition, users will now have the ability to scroll the keyboard upwards, allowing them to get a wider view. Also, the tabs for accessing the GIF, sticker, and avatar sections have been relocated higher up.

As per the report, the new keyboard comes with the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.12.19 update. It is available on the Google Play Store for download. For iPhone users, the feature is rolling out with iOS beta version 23.12.0.70.

The report says that the redesigned keyboard is available to some lucky beta testers that install the latest WhatsApp beta for Android and WhatsApp for iOS update from the Google Play Store. It is rolling out to more users over the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp is rolling out the ability to send HD photos to its users. According to a report by WaBetaInfo, some beta testers on Android and iOS are seeing a new option that allows them to manage the photo quality. The new ability is available for those who have installed the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.11.0.76 update from the TestFlight app, and the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.12.13 update from the Google Play Store.

With the new feature, WhatsApp users will be able to choose a better quality when sending photos. However, the option only appears when one selects a photo large in size. Every time a user shares a photo by choosing the “high quality” option, it is marked as a high-quality photo so a new tag is automatically added to the message bubble. The information, it says, will help the recipient understand when a photo is sent by using this feature. It is worth mentioning that the feature is limited to images only. There is still no way to send a video with better quality without sending it as a document. Also, the feature is not available when sharing photos by using status updates.
