Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, is the fifth film of the Mad Max Franchise, it is the spin-off and prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road (2015).
Popular Japanese video game designer Hideo Kojima has all good things to say about Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the latest film of the Mad Max franchise. The post-apocalyptic action adventure film will premiere at the 77th annual Cannes Film Festival on May 15, before getting the theatrical release on May 24. However, even before its public release, the select reviews and reactions based on special screenings are already trickling out. Kojima, best known for making video games like Zone of the Enders and Metal Gear, showed praises on the film.
On Friday, he took to X and wrote, “Witnessed “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga”! This movie, which easily surpasses “MAD” and even past “FURY”, is at its “MAX” (masterpiece)! Ever since I saw the first film when I was 16 years old, George Miller has saved me, encouraged me, and changed my way of life countless times. He is my God, and the SAGA that he tells is my Bible.” The video game designer also shared photos from the special screening.

Back in December 2023, Kojima expressed excitement at the announcement of Furiora: A Mad Max Saga as he shared the first look photos of the film and wrote, “It’s finally here!!!!! Gave me energy! My GOD, thank you.” Now it appears that for Kojima the wait was worth it.
Earlier this week film critic Erik Davis also gave a positive review of Furiosa as he described it as a “powerhouse action filmmaking at its absolute best!” He also praised the acting of the cast members and wrote, “Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth equally dive all the way into the Wasteland, and both deliver some incredible stuff.”

Joe Aragon, the host of the House of Cinema podcast, shared a similar opinion and wrote, “George Miller is a movie making God. Anya Taylor-Joy is a MOVIE star. Chris Hemsworth delivers the best role of his career. Furiosa is why we go to the movies.”

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is the spin-off and prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) and is set 15 to 20 years before the events of Mad Max: Fury Road. As its name suggests, the film elaborates the journey of Imperator Furiosa, played by Anya Taylor-Joy, a role that was previously played by Charlize Theron. Like all Mad Max films, this one is also directed by George Miller.
