Kim Woojin’s tour in India will cover four major cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Dimapur.
Former Stray Kids member Kim Woojin has kick-started his highly-anticipated The Moment Tour in India with a bang. The now-soloist made headlines at the Road to Cherry Blossom Festival on Monday, October 23. Fans of the K-pop idol erupted in massive hoots and cheers as Kim Woojin took centre stage at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi. But the major highlight of the concert arrived when the musician and dancer grooved to a Bollywood hit number. Taking audiences by surprise, the captivating moment saw him dancing to the tunes of Shah Rukh Khan’s romantic song Chaleya from Jawan. Footage of the special set has gone viral across social media platforms.
Donning a plain white tee layered with a blingy jacket and quirky denim, Kim Woojin was accompanied by a group of background dancers in black and white outfits. The K-pop star moved gracefully to Bollywood beats, emulating SRK’s moves and choreography. This has led fans to chant “Woojin won the Chaleya trend” online. Catch a glimpse of his performance here:
A barrage of social media users utterly rejoiced upon watching the clip with many even claiming Woojin deserves an Indian identity card. A fan commented, “This guy deserves the Aadhaar card. Please get him one, let’s adopt him.” Another wrote, “I’m crying, shooting, and trembling damn.” One more said, “I’m obsessed with this clip.” Meanwhile, a user added, “Damn he did this so smoothly.”
Prior to the event, Kim Woojin was spotted interacting with his Indian fans during a fan meeting. The headline act began with his energetic rendition from his second mini-album The Moment: Bounce. Elsewhere, he crooned some of his massive hits Ready Now, My Growing Pains including his hit OST Dive from the K-drama King The Land.
Kim Woojin’s Indian tour will continue with his mini concert and fan meet at the IMC Hall, Dimapur on Thursday, October 26. After which, he is set to travel to Bengaluru to perform the headline act at the K-Wave Festival on October 28. Finally, his Indian tour will end with yet another mini-concert and fan meet at Dublin Square, Phoenix Market City Mall, Mumbai on October 29.
