Kiara Advani is all set to star in War 2 alongside Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, under the direction of Ayan Mukerji. As filming continues in Italy, fans are eagerly awaiting the action-packed sequel. Recently, Kiara took the internet by storm by sharing her first selfie with the director, reminiscent of Wake Up Sid vibes.
On Sunday, Kiara posted a selfie with Ayan Mukerji on her Instagram Stories. The two twinned in white, spending what she called a “Holy Sunday” together. In the picture, Kiara wore a white suit with a matching dupatta, while Ayan sported a white outfit with a scarf. She captioned the photo, “Holy Sunday@ayanmukerji,” accompanied by nerd and halo emojis. To add to the nostalgia, she played Wake Up Sid’s iconic track, Iktara, in the background.
Earlier reports from Pinkvilla confirmed that Anil Kapoor will also be part of War 2. This film is one of the most anticipated in the YRF Spy Universe, marking its sixth installment. Previous films in the franchise include Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3. The post-credits scene from last year’s Tiger 3 teased Hrithik’s return as Kabir in War 2.
Unlike the first part, which was directed by Siddharth Anand, Ayan Mukerji will helm the sequel, set to release on August 14, 2025, just before India’s Independence Day.
A source told Pinkvilla, “Ayan Mukerji and Aditya Chopra have worked meticulously on the script of War 2 to make it distinct from other YRF Spy Universe films. This sequel promises to be an action spectacle with a darker, grittier tone, as hinted in Kabir’s post-credit appearance.”
Jr NTR is rumoured to be playing the villain. In a recent interview, Jr NTR revealed that his acting style is different from the style of Ayan’s directorial style. When I was shooting for War 2, Ayan did not know what’s going to come. Because he was trying to bring it out from me, that how is this going to come out,” he told Karan Johar during an interaction.
