Vijay Varma Opens Up About The Impact Gully Boy's Success Had On His Career: 'Feels Like Insaaf Hua Hai' – DellyRanks

Vijay Varma is a consistent performer in Indian cinema. The versatile actor has won the hearts of audiences with his back-to-back extraordinary performances in shows like ‘Dahaad’, ‘Kalkoot’, ‘Lust Stories 2’, and ‘Jaane Jaan’. While he has given many remarkable performances, the one film that changed the landscape of his career is Zoya Akhta’s directed ‘Gully Boy’. The actor was seen in the character of Moeen Arif in the musical drama film, also starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. 

Recently, the film completed five glorious years since its release. On the five-year anniversary of Gully Boy, Vijay Varma was asked about how the success of Gully Boy proved to be a game changer for him and how he saw it.

Responding to the same, Vijay Varma said, “It feels like insaaf hua hai. It’s heartening to see that so many brilliant actors are in the spotlight today. You need to up your game as well. From being a supporting actor to a leading man, it’s been quite a journey, and it’s not a common graph. Irrfan was a massive inspiration for me because his journey was also tough. He became a role model for people like me. Also, you don’t always need to look outside. You need to have that insatiable hunger for work, and I have that even now. No appreciation should stop you from wanting to do more work.”

It can’t be denied that Vijay Varma breathed life into the character of Moeen Arif in Gully Boy, and his character even received love and praise from every corner.
