Vijay Sethupathi praised ‘Power Star’ Pawan Kalyan, whose Jana Sena party won all its contested seats in the Andhra Assembly elections and 2 Lok Sabha seats.
At a recent press meet in Hyderabad, Vijay Sethupathi praised ‘Power Star’ Pawan Kalyan, whose party, Jana Sena, won all 21 seats it contested in the Andhra Assembly elections and secured 2 Lok Sabha seats. Sethupathi said, “I honestly don’t know anything about him, but there were many friends from the Telugu circle who shared content on social media through which I got to know about him. He has proven that he is not just a mass hero in films but also as a person. It is all because of consistency. I asked people what the fuss is all about and they said what he has actually achieved. Despite all the trolling, he has made it”.
Meanwhile, pn Friday, the NDA gathered its newly elected MPs in the Parliament to claim leadership of the next central government. Telugu star and JSP President Pawan Kalyan, who contested from the Pithapuram Assembly constituency in AP and won, was also present. A clip from the meeting wherein PM Narendra Modi praises the actor-turned-politician is going viral on the internet. Talking about him, the PM said, “Yeh pawan nahi hai. Andhi hai.”
Pawan Kalyan, in his speech, said, “My heartfelt wishes on behalf of Jan Sena. I am fortunate and grateful for giving this opportunity to be here. Starting 2014, in the the same place. As honourable Chandrababu Naida just said, ‘We want to see Modiji to rule this country for 15 years and it’s happening. Chandrababu ji, your prophecy came true. Modi ji, you truly inspire the nation. As long as you are the Prime Minsiter of this country, our country will never bow down to anyone.”
Sethupathi’s last Bollywood release was Merry Christmas, starring Katrina Kaif and directed by Sriram Raghavan. Vijay recently said that experience with Shah Rukh Khan in Jawan was special. In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, he talked about the praise SRK gave him but mentioned he’s no longer interested in playing villain roles.
Speaking of his bond with Shah Rukh Khan, Vijay Sethupathi said, “I learn something from everyone. What I learned from Shah Rukh Khan is that his energy levels never go down. One day, during the shoot, he was unwell but you just can’t figure it out unless he tells you. That’s an amazing quality he has. He shared a lot of things about me which I felt very happy about.”
