Amit reports that Vashu Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment is facing heavy financial losses, it has now been reported that the film producer owes money to Akshay Kumar’s Mission Raniganj director Tinu Desai. Recently, Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) president BN Tiwari revealed that payments of workers who worked on the sets of – Mission Raniganj, Ganapath and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan are also pending.
As reported by the news agency PTI, the FWICE president revealed that Bhagnani’s company, Pooja Entertainment, owes Rs 33.13 lakh to director Desai. Besides this, he also has to Rs 31.78 lakh to over 250 crew members.
“A written complaint was filed by the director of Mission Raniganj regarding non-payment of his dues of ₹33.13 lakh from Vashu Bhagnani last year in March. We’ve been following up with Pooja Entertainment but still they haven’t made the payment. They have said by July end they will clear the dues,” the FWICE president said.
In March 2023, Mission Raniganj director filed a complaint against Bhagnani alleging non-payment of dues. Reportedly, the amount that the director was supposed to receive was Rs 4,03,50,000. However, he has only received Rs 3,70,36,092 so far.
FWICE President also revealed that even though IFTDA wrote multiple letters to Pooja Entertainment, they kept delaying the payment. The president also stated that in February this year, the production house sought “time to pay, citing Jackky Bhagnani’s wedding via an email dated February 20, 2024, to IFTDA”. However, they didn’t reply later.
FWICE sent another letter to Pooja Entertainment in March this year but Bhagnani sought time again saying “they would do so after the release of their film, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan”.
Reports of Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani-owned Pooja Entertainment facing big losses due to a series of flops have been making headlines for a long time now. Earlier this month, a report by Bollywood Hungama claimed that Vashu sold the seven-story office of Pooja Entertainment to settle a debt of Rs 250 crore. It also revealed that the film producer was using the proceeds from the sale to pay off debts and also reported that the production house had laid off 80 per cent of its staff. However, Bhagnani dismissed the claims and later issued a statement saying the building was undergoing redevelopment.
Amid all this, Amid all this, the film producer recently also revealed that Akshay Kumar dialled him to check if the online reports were true. The Bollywood actor asked Bhagnani not to worry and assured him that he would always be with the production house.
“Akshay was the first person to call me and say not to worry, and let him know if there was anything to do. He lent his unconditional support. I also got calls from Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, and also my old friend David Dhawan. I am really moved by everyone, they are people who stick by you,” Vashu told ANI.
