Vardhan Puri opened up about working with Mahesh Bhatt. The actor will be seen in Dashmi, presented by Mahesh Bhatt.
Actor Vardhan Puri has been shooting throughout the year for multiple projects which are all coming out next year. First up is Dashmi, directed by Shantanu Tambe which releases in January. The motion poster of the movie was launched on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra. The actor is quite excited to be beginning his year with such a special film. Vardhan says, “It’s a very happy feeling since Dashmi is so close to me and the subject is mighty powerful. I feel positive about this film and truly believe that the audiences will connect with the film.”
The actor informs that he signed up for the film just by hearing the climax of the film, “When I heard the last 15 minutes of the film, I immediately told Shantanu sir that I do not know anything about the project apart from the climax. But just based on his narration it completely shook me up, I said that I would like to submit to his vision. From that moment onwards we started the journey of making this film. It was a heart-wrenching and very emotionally challenging journey.”
Puri is also excited as he will be seen in a film that is going to be presented by Mahesh Bhatt and directed by Vikram Bhatt. He says, “Interestingly the first time I met Mahesh Bhatt saab in 2015, he told me that we would be working together in the future, and his prophecy is coming true.” Vardhan shares that the film is essentially a love story but is also garnished with Vikram’s signature elements of horror. “I am blessed to be working with such terrific filmmakers. I loved the script due to the fine balance it holds between commercialism and realism and I was sold completely during the first narration itself.”
Sharing his experience from the sets, the actor adds, “A fabulous thing about my experience on this film until now has been the fact that Bhatt sahab is on our sets spending so much time with us. He is so passionate about cinema and his understanding of the medium is so deep. He directs us often and gives the most wonderful notes and instructions to us artists, taking the film to another level altogether.”
Puri says that he is quite excited about 2024, “I am looking forward to all my upcoming film shoots and releases. The idea is to create great content and keep the audiences entertained and engaged. That’s my purpose in life,” he concludes.
