This will be TVS’ first bike in the new Race Performance sub-brand.
TVS has just released a teaser video that hints at the launch of a two-wheeler under the Race Performance sub-brand. Going by the trademark application from a few months ago, the upcoming motorcycle is expected to be the TVS Apache RTR 165 RP.
The TVS Apache RTR 165 RP is expected to be based on the brand’s RTR 160 4V. The 160 in the name of the latter stood for its engine displacement and if that’s the case with the RTR 165 RP, we could see a slight bump in the engine capacity. The internals of the engine on the 165 RP could be reworked in that case. Interestingly, this will extend the lead the motorcycle already has when it comes to performance figures.

While the teaser doesn’t reveal much, one can expect the upcoming two-wheeler under the Race Performance sub-brand to come with a segment leading feature list. We could even see it get adjustable suspension similar to the one found on the top-spec RTR 200 4V. Another feature that’s likely to make its way to the RTR 165 RP are riding modes.Â
TVS Apache RTR 165 RP: expected price
With the teaser video out, it won’t be long before the bike is revealed. The RTR 165 RP is likely to be around Rs 5,000-10,000 more expensive than the top-spec RTR 160 4V, depending on the magnitude of the changes. For reference, the price of the RTR 160 4V ranges between Rs 1.15 lakh-1.21 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
