Triumph Daytona 660, launch details

The Daytona 660 is powered by a 660cc inline three-cylinder that is also found in the Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660. However, it is in its highest state of tune in the Daytona 660 and produces 95hp at 11,250rpm and 69Nm at 8,250rpm which is 14hp more and 5Nm higher than its naked and adventure counterparts. While these numbers aren’t as high as the Daytona 675 that came before it, Triumph claims the new Daytona 660 is a lot friendlier and more comfortable in comparison. Despite producing more power than its siblings, the Daytona 660 is 12kg heavier than the Trident 660 and 5kg lighter than the Tiger Sport 660.

The Daytona has a seat height of 810mm which is 25mm shorter than it’s Adventure counterpart and 5mm taller than it’s naked counterpart. Globally the Daytona 660 is available in three colours; Snowdonia White, Satin Granite and Carnival Red. It is also equipped with a 14 litre fuel tank, similar to the Trident 660. While globally the Daytona 660 is priced slightly lower than the Tiger Sport 660, in India it costs Rs 27,000 more than the latter and Rs 1.60 lakh more than the Trident 660. Currently, it rivals the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja 650, Aprilia RS 660 and will also compete with the upcoming Honda CBR650R and Suzuki GSX-8R.
