The Toyota Innova Hycross was unveiled in India today days after the new-gen MPV made its global debut in Indonesia as the Innova Zenix. Deliveries will commence in January 2023 following the price announcement.Â
The new Hycross is the first Innova to be based on monocoque construction and to get a front-wheel drive layout. For the Innova Hycross, Toyota has also ditched the diesel engine. Instead, it gets a 172hp, 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 2.0-litre strong-hybrid unit making a combined output of 184hp.Â
The Innova Hycross is available in a total of five variants. With the Innova Hycross, Toyota has upped the ante with the equipment that it is offering. For instance, it debuts Toyota’s Safety Sense 3.0 in India. Here, we look at the powertrain and features available with each trim.
Toyota Innova Hycross variant breakdown
The Hycross gets five variants – G, GX, VX, ZX and ZX (O). The base two trims are available only with the naturally aspirated petrol engine. The other three are available only with the hybrid powertrain.Â
The G-SLF, GX and VX variants get an option of 7- and 8-seat layouts. However, the top ZX and ZX (O) variants are only available with the seven-seat layout.Â
