The Innova Hycross gets a larger boot space and rides flatter, but misses out on the diesel’s strong mid-range performance.
Between Toyota’s Innova Crysta diesel and Innova Hycross petrol, which will be the more comfortable replacement for my 2008 Innova? The car will be self-driven. Also, I don’t see the value in paying more for the Hycross hybrid.

Autocar India says: The Hycross certainly has an edge over the Crysta diesel thanks to its light and easy electric power steering as well as its smooth automatic transmission (CVT), which make manoeuvering this large MPV a breeze. Also, space and packaging is a touch better, it has a larger boot with all seats in place, and being a new monocoque platform, it rides flatter and handles better than the Crysta. Sure, being a petrol-automatic, you will miss the diesel’s strong mid-range performance, and expect fuel consumption to be higher too. However, if these are sacrifices that you’re willing to make, the Hycross petrol comes across as the better choice.
