Katrina Kaif shared details about how the viral towel scene was shot in the action-packed trailer of Tiger 3.
Katrina Kaif is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film with Salman Khan, Tiger 3. In the third film of the franchise, Katrina and Salman will reprise their roles as Zoya and Tiger to fight against the antagonist, played by Emraan Hashmi. When the film’s trailer was released, fans lauded Katrina for her action sequences, especially the scene in which she fights another woman in a towel. Katrina recently opened up about her training for the film in an interview.
The actress shared via a press note, “It was a difficult sequence to shoot because it has hand-to-hand fighting inside a steamy hammam. [Due to the steam], gripping, fending, and landing the punches and kicks was a challenge. I don’t think there has been a fight sequence like this featuring two women on screen in India. I love doing risky action sequences, and this franchise has always given me the opportunity to take things several notches higher. [In] Zoya, the audience gets to see a woman who can fight as well as a man.”
Previously, she also told Mid-Day, “I’m aware that the towel fight sequence at the Hammam from Tiger 3 has gone viral. It was a very, very difficult sequence to shoot because it has incredible hand-to-hand fighting inside a steamy Hammam room so gripping, fending, landing the punches and the kicks everything was very difficult. Hats off to Adi for thinking of this brilliant scene because I don’t think there has been a fight sequence like this featuring two women on screen in India. The way Maneesh and the action team executed it was just incredible – everything was detailed out to a T. So, it was a total team effort which people are loving.”
Katrina also shared a BTS image of her viral towel scene on Monday. In the photo, Katrina could be seen in a towel, holding on to it as she stood against her fellow actress, pressed against a pillar. She also shared a bunch of videos in which she could be seen practising for her action sequences. She could be seen doing high kicks and intense workouts in the videos. Another video featured her getting treated for what seemed like an injury.
She wrote, “For me, when tiger time comes, it’s about pushing my limits, testing my endurance, and finding that strength within. Someone once told me, ‘Pain is just another sensation’ ….Don’t be afraid of it, don’t run from the pain. Many days, I was so tired; it felt different this time…tougher. My body was sore, but I would tell myself to take it as a challenge and see how much I could face today.”
“During training, we created an alter ego. So even if I was tired, SHE wasn’t tired; she was going to war!….your mind will stop you much before your body does.
