After winning hearts with his role as ‘Khureshi Ab’ram / Stephen Nedumpally’ in Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Malayalam actioner L2: Empuraan, it seems Mohanlal is set to provide utmost entertainment to his fans once again. After the commercial success of his last release, Mohanlal is now gearing up for Thudarum.
Mohanlal’s upcoming movie Thudarum is set to hit the theatres next week. Directed by Tharun Moorthy and produced by M. Renjith under the banner of Rejaputhra Visual Media, the movie will also star Shobana, Aarsha Chandini Baiju, Farhaan Faasil, Maniyanpilla Raju, Krishna Praba, Irshad Ali, Nandhu, Thomas Mathew and Arjun Ashokan in key roles. While the initial release date for Thudarum was reportedly in January, now the movie is set to hit the theatres on April 25 after certain delays.
In Thudarum, Mohanlal will play the role of a humble taxi driver Shanmughan, who lives in the quiet hill town of Ranni. Above all, he treasures one thing – his aging black-hued Ambassador car. However, with a turn of fate, his car goes missing. From there, the movie’s plot highlights how far Mohanlal’s character will go while searching for his prized possession.
The thriller movie, written by K.R. Sunil and Tharun Moorthy, has a total runtime of 2 hours 43 minutes and a U/A rating. The movie’s gripping trailer provides a glimpse of the intense characters and their storyline. The 1 minute 57 second-long video, which was released in the last week of March, starts with Mohanlal talking about his Maths teacher in school. The clip then gives a sneak peek into his love and care for his vintage ambassador, his playful relationship with his wife, Lalitha (played by Shobana), and ultimately the moment when his car gets missing. The slightly comic cheerful vibe of the trailer slowly changes to something more sinister as the car goes missing.
