This state government increased salary-pension for 16 lakh employees, DA hiked by 4 percent: 7th Pay Commission

DA hike most recent news: The Dearness Allowance (DA) adds money to the salaries of government workers to protect against inflation. The dearness allowance has been raised sequentially by a number of state governments in recent days. The most recent improvement comes from the Government of Tamil Nadu (Tamil Nadu Govt), which has reported an expansion in the Dearness Remittance (TN DA Hike) inside the state.

This change brings about an increased compensation for state government representatives and a higher benefits for resigned workers. The implementation takes effect on April 1st.


The DA increase was announced on Wednesday by MK Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu (TN CM). According to him, the state government has approved a 4% increase in the dearness allowance for employees and pensioners in accordance with the 7th pay commission.

An authority explanation from the state government affirmed that this choice will produce results from the very outset of the monetary year, guaranteeing that Tamil Nadu government representatives and beneficiaries get the expanded DA benefits beginning from April 1, 2023.

As of recently, Tamil Nadu government representatives and retired people were benefiting a dearness stipend at a pace of 38%. On the other hand, the rate will now rise to 42%. The assertion likewise stresses that qualified representatives and retired people will get the expanded pace of dearness stipend from April 1, 2023, alongside unfulfilled obligations installments.

The statement issued by the state government, on the other hand, acknowledges that this increase in the dearness allowance will significantly strain the treasury. State government pensioners and employees will benefit directly from this decision, as they will receive monthly increases in pay and benefits.

According to the statement, roughly 16 lakh people will directly benefit from the DA increase. In addition, executing this choice will bring about a yearly weight of Rs 2,367 crore on the express government’s exchequer.

The dearness allowance has also been increased by other state governments. Under the 7th Pay Commission, the Uttar Pradesh government led by Yogi Adityanath recently increased the allowance from 38% to 42%, with effect from January 1, 2023.

In April, the Bihar government reported a 4 percent increment in DA. In a similar vein, during the same month, the government of Himachal Pradesh implemented a 3% increase in DA.
