In order to provide users with individualized solutions, the public sector Bank of Baroda and the Government of Tamil Nadu collaborated to launch the co-branded RuPay Platinum Debit Card on Thursday. According to the bank, the “Pudhumai Penn” program beneficiaries would receive the debit card.
According to the Bank of Baroda’s statement, the card provides personal accident insurance coverage up to Rs 2 lakh per year. It also stated that the first-year joining and annual fees had been waived.
The government’s Pudhumai Penn program aims to increase the number of girls who enroll in higher education institutions from government schools. Every girl would receive monthly financial assistance of Rs. 1,000 through this program until they completed their degree program.
The student’s bank account will receive the incentive amount in accordance with this plan.
According to the release, T Udhayachandran, principal secretary of the special implementation department of the Tamil Nadu government, and A Saravanakumar, general manager and zonal head of Bank of Baroda, launched the card at an event here in the presence of senior bank officials.
