These farmers won’t receive next installment, here’s why: PM Kisan Yojana

India's PM Kisan Scheme provides eligible farmers with financial assistance.

The Indian Central Government’s Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana offers farmers financial assistance in the form of a four-monthly installment of Rs 2000, or Rs 6000 annually.

The eligible farmers have received the 12th installment, and the 13th installment will soon be made available. On the PM Kisan Yojana website, farmers who have not benefited from this program can sign up.

However, this program is not available to all farmers. Farmers whose bank accounts are not linked to Aadhaar and the NPCI (not DBT enabled), as stated on the website of the Bihar Agriculture Department, will not be eligible for the benefit. Farmers must open a DBT-enabled bank account at the post office in India Post Payment Bank (IPPB) in order to receive the subsequent installment.

Beneficiaries must also complete their eKYC in order to benefit from this program. They can use an OTP to connect their Aadhaar to the PM-Kisan portal and mobile number, or they can go to the centers closest to them and update their eKYC with biometrics.

By sending a message to 567676, SBI bank account holders with a linked mobile number can link their Aadhaar to their bank account. If the mobile number is not registered or if Aadhaar is already linked to the account, an SMS response will be sent. They will need to visit an SBI branch to complete the procedure if the verification fails.

Farmers must visit the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Yojana’s official website, select the eKYC option, and submit their Aadhaar number and captcha information in order to complete eKYC. Their mobile number will receive an OTP, which they must enter to proceed. In the subsequent step, the eKYC will be finished.
