The Archies is streaming on Netflix.
The release was preceded by a pre-release screening held in Mumbai on December 5, attended by the who’s who of Bollywood to show their wholehearted support.
The Archies, starring Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja, Aditi Saigal and Yuvraj Menda, released on Netflix on December 7 to positive reviews. The film marks the highly-anticipated debut of Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana, Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Khushi. The release was preceded by a special pre-release screening held in Mumbai on December 5, attended by the who’s who of Bollywood to show their wholehearted support. Netflix has now released a few of the post-screening reviews.
Hrithik Roshan, one of the first ones to come out of the theatre, said, “Such sweetness, the vulnerability, the dance – I loved the dancing!” Abhishek Bachchan, who was there to support his nephew Agastya, said it was a nostalgic ride. “It took us back in time, you know. We all grew up reading Archie’s. We were transported back transported back to our youth.” he said.
Bhumi Pednekar and Katrina Kaif were all praise for Zoya Akhtar. While Bhumi said, “It was such fun. Only Zoya could do it”, Katrina said, “I think we are all the biggest Zoya Akhtar fans and what a versatile director! Everything she just touches is gold.”
Next up for Karan Johar, who seems really excited to have watched the film. Speaking to the red carpet host, he said, “It’s everything we wanted to see out of Zoya Akhtar film, and the seven kids are fantastic. Each and every one of them has given brilliant performance.” Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who was in attendance with the Bachchan family, said, “It was wonderful and huge congratulations to the entire team.”
’s review of the film reads, “Agastya as Archie is an interesting choice and he proves why he was chosen. Given the subjects that Zoya was handling, Agastya fits perfectly in the look and feel of Archie. Suhana and Kushi as Veronica and Betty shoulder every scene with balance, allowing each other to take the spotlight when they need to shine.”
