Tesla Cybertruck price, global debut and delivery, range and powertrain

After a two-year delay, Tesla will also begin deliveries on the same day.

Tesla will finally show the prodcution-ready model of its Cybertruck to the public on November 30. Tesla began series production of the Cybertruck at its Texas Gigafactory in July this year, and had shared a glimpse of the Cybertruck in its full production glory.

  1. Three powertrain options on offer
  2. 1,360kg payload is standard across the range
  3. Tesla could start manufacturing in India by 2026

Tesla Cybertruck interior highlights

Latest pictures that have surfaced on the internet give us a clear look of the upcoming Cybertruck along with its production-spec interior. The Cybertruck’s styling is similar to the pre-production units and the concepts, and while this does not say much, it’s the interior pictures that reveal a lot more details.

Like other Tesla models, the Cybertruck continues to get a minimialist dashboard layout, with the large 17-inch touchscreen display taking centrestage. The vehicle seen in the spy shots gets a unique white and grey theme, which could be standard on one of the variants. The squarish steering wheel continues to be typical Tesla, however, it doesn’t get the “Yoke”.

A closer look at the touchscreen display reveals controls for the bed cover, suspension settings, steering adjustments and wing mirror settings, and also shows controls for child lock, headlamps, sentry mode, car wash mode and a few other functions. Like the other Tesla models, the Cybertruck also has a “Frunk”, which is the storage space up front that’s available due to lack of an engine.

Tesla Cybertruck powertrain and payload

Tesla has earlier said that the Cybertruck’s body is made from “ultra-hard 30X cold-rolled stainless steel”, and is claimed to be able to withstand attacks from 9mm bullets.

Three powertrain options are on offer with one, two or three electric motors. The entry-level single-motor, rear-wheel-drive Cybertruck will do 0-100kph in 6.5 seconds; has a claimed range of 402km; and can tow up to 3,400kg. Payload capacity is 1,360kg, which is standard across the range.

The mid-range dual-motor Cybertruck does 0-100kph in 4.5 seconds, and has the same 402km range. The tri-motor variant uses Tesla’s Plaid EV powertrain, same as the Model S Plaid, and has a range of 804km, with a towing capacity of 6,350kg.

Tesla Cybertruck booking numbers hover around two million units

Cybertruck bookings opened for United States customers a few months back, and customer deliveries are likely to commence from November 30. Sources tell us that Tesla will begin deliveries of only two out of three powertrain options on the Cybertruck initially.

There have been talks on the internet that Tesla would deliver the first ten units of the Cybertruck on November 30, and the rest following gradually. The order book for the Cybertruck seems to be huge as well, and while there is no official number from the brand, independent crowd-sourced reservation trackers have re-released a reservation figure for the Cyberturck, which hovers around two million units.

Tesla India plans: latest update

Fresh reports suggest that Tesla may finally be able to make an official entry in India sometime next year. While the initial batch of cars sold in our market will be full imports, the brand could start building EVs in India by 2026. The Indian government and Tesla are said to be close to reaching an agreement that will not only allow the US EV maker to sell models made overseas but also set up a manufacturing plant in India.
