Goutham Krishna used the money from the scheme to set up a production company called Amma Productions.
The Dalit Bandhu scheme of the Telangana government, aimed at supporting Dalit entrepreneurs and businessmen, has helped many people to launch their own ventures. According to latest reports, through this scheme, a young man has been able to fulfil his dream of becoming a filmmaker. District collector RV Karnan of Karimnagar heard about a youngster, who was interested in becoming a filmmaker. The man, named Goutham Krishna, is a resident of the Bethigal village in Karimnagar district.
Karnan invited him home and helped him become a beneficiary of the Dalit Bandhu scheme. Through that scheme, Goutham was provided a camera and other required equipment for filmmaking.
According to Goutham Krishna, through the Dalit Bandhu scheme he received a financial assistance of nearly Rs 10 lakh. He used it to set up a production company called Amma Productions. He has even produced a Telugu film called Time Pass Love Ante, which was released on an OTT platform. The movie received a rating of 9.1, and he was able to get good revenue from it.
Currently, Goutham Krishna is making another film, which features veteran actor Suman as the protagonist. The title of the film is The Cop.
RV Karnan was transferred to Nalgonda, where he recently organised an event and invited Goutham to share his experiences as a beneficiary of the Dalit Bandhu scheme. At the same event, the poster of his upcoming film The Cop was also released. The financial assistance under Dalit Bandhu scheme was given to 1100 beneficiaries at the event.
Praising Goutham, Karnan said that Dalits should use this scheme to grow economically, and that a successful example of that is Goutham. Talking about the film, he said, “I hope that this movie will play at a good level.” The first look of the poster was released by the MLA of Nalgonda Kancherla Bhupal Reddy.
